The 2021 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru feels a little smudged on the nose compared to its peers, lacking the precision one expects from this vineyard. The palate is fresh on the entry with a sapid undertow but the finish feels rather bitter and simple for its class. This just lacks some nobility and slightly oxidizes in the glass. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.

The 2021 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru, which was taken directly from tank, has a well defined bouquet with white flowers, quince and crushed stone that opens with confidence, lovely definition and focus. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, fresh and vibrant with a saline "lick" on the finish that gets the saliva flowing. Excellent.
