The 2023 Chablis Tête d'Or has a clean but relatively simple nose that just lacks some personality. The palate feels smooth and a little oaky. It's drinkable but equally forgettable. This is a bit too by-the-numbers. Tasted blind at the BIVB offices in Chablis.

Blend selected from best plots in premiers crus, mainly just north-east of Chablis town. 30% in oak of which some is new. Priced almost at premier cru level and intended for serious dishes. Cask sample. Real grip and conviction. Lemon and racy and just what you want from a Chablis. (JR)
