Score 89/100 · Drink 2027-2037, Neal Martin, Jan 2025

The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Seuvrées presents a pretty nose with notable purity of fruit, featuring raspberry and wild strawberry and a hint of cassis lingering in the background, becoming quite floral with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a rounded, slightly confit-like entry. Perhaps this is a little sun-kissed compared to other cuvées due to the late-season heat wave, though I appreciate the spiciness that defines the finish. Kind of a "fun" Gevrey to enjoy over the next decade.

Aromas of sweet red berries, orange zest and peonies introduce Groffier's 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Seuvrées, a medium to full-bodied, pure and precise wine that's lively and mineral. This derives from vines planted on the rise toward Morey, half of which are old.
