The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Corbeaux has turned out nicely, mingling aromas of cherries and cassis with notions of smoke and spices in an appealing bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, lively and suave, it's fresh and seamless, reflecting the Bachelet family's longstanding work to tame this climat's potential rusticity.

The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Corbeaux 1er Cru has a minerally bouquet that is a little more pixelated and brighter than the Les Evocelles. There is wonderful focus and heart-warming purity of fruit, equally red and black. Elegant and poised, the palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins. It is not a powerful Gevrey-Chambertin, but it has a seductive, sweet, lightly spiced finish with a little confited fruit. Excellent.
