The 2023 Santenay 1er Cru Le Passetemps delivers lovely aromas of cassis, wild blueberries, rose petals and violets, followed by a medium- to full-bodied, lively and layered palate built around sweet, powdery tannins and bright acids. This small cuvée has turned out especially well this year.

The 2023 Santenay Le Passetemps 1er Cru, the first picked from the vineyard planted at 15,000 vines per hectare, includes 50% whole bunch. This has a well-defined and focused nose featuring blackcurrant, star anis and light cedar scents that become more peppery with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied and fresh with grainy tannins, gentle grip, touches of white pepper and hints of clove toward the finish. This is excellent.
