Score 89-91/100 · Drink 2024-2032, Neal Martin, Jan 2023

The 2021 Gevrey-Chambertin Bel-Air 1er Cru has a stronger perfume than other cuvées: rose petals and iris flower complementing the red berry fruit, with cooked meat hints in the background. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, raspberry and blackberry fruit with a slightly sultry finish. Perhaps it just lacks a bit of verve? Give this a year or two in bottle.
