The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Village offers up aromas of sweet red fruits, vine smoke and toasty oak, followed by a medium-bodied, fleshy and melting palate that's soft and supple.

The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Village is a blend of five lieux-dits picked at the end of the harvest on September 22nd. This was tasted from two glasses, the traditional Burgundy glass is far superior. The nose offers finely delineated red cherry and crushed strawberry notes. The palate is clean and pure, framed by fine tannins, with the 35% new oak just rounding out the finish. Fine.

Henri Rebourseau

Based in Gevrey-Chambertin, this domaine has a long history and impressive vineyards (with over five hectares of Grand Cru), but has long been considered an under-performer. Today, however, the Bouygues brothers (of Montrose and Clos Rougeard) have taken ownership and change is afoot.
