The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin La Brunelle offers up inviting aromas of cherries, blueberries, licorice and rose petals, followed by a medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy palate that's lively and succulent, built around powdery structuring tannins. This is a touch less demonstrative than is often the case out of the gates, and it will reward a modicum of patience.

The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin La Brunelle has a more sensual bouquet with raspberry and cranberry scents that unfold in the glass. There's good intensity and terroir expression here. The palate is medium-bodied with a little sucrosity on the entry. A little plush in style with candied orange peel and licorice toward the finish, this is one cuvée I might have picked a day or two earlier.
