The 2020 Marsannay Les Crais wafts from the glass with aromas of cherries, raspberries and sweet spices. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and nicely concentrated, with ripe, powdery tannins that assert themselves on the youthfully chalky finish, this is promising.

The 2020 Marsannay Les Crais has a tightly-wound bouquet at first, a mixture of red and black fruit, a touch of iris flower. I would like a little more blue fruit here to pin it down geographically to this appellation. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy tannins, bright red fruit that lends vigour and finesse to the finish. Good potential.
