Score 86/100 · Drink 2004-2008, Pierre Rovani, Jun 2004

The ruby-colored 2002 Gevrey-Chambertin (DFP) delivers pretty aromas of spicy black raspberries, cherries, and violets. A delicate, lace-like wine, it is light to medium-bodied with appealing dark berry flavors in an elegant, silky-textured format. It should be enjoyed over the next 4 years. Note: The wines marked “(DFP)” are produced by Jacques Seysses and his son Jeremy’s new negociant firm, Dujac Fils et Pere. Importer: Wilson-Daniels, St. Helena, CA; tel. (707) 963-9661

Medium red-ruby. Pretty, leesy aromas of cherry, sandalwood, flowers, underbrush and game. Nicely sweet and delineated in the mouth, and ripe on the back end, with torrefaction notes of chocolate and coffee. Jeremy Seysses changed his suppliers for this wine in 2002.

Light red. Vegetal nose with some torrefaction notes. Lively and racy. Why would one want more from burgundy now? (JR)
