Good dark red. Compelling cool-site floral lift to the aromas of black cherry and crushed stone. Juicy, floral and precise, delivering superb dark fruit intensity and inner-mouth energy without any impression of weight. Superb soil-driven salinity is perfectly matched by primary fruit. Very long, firm and juicy on the aftertaste. Should make a classic Cazetiers.

The 2014 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru les Cazetiers, which is completed destemmed, has a very pure and lifted bouquet with hints of cassis and iodine percolating through. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, ripe fruit and there is good salinity here with sappy, bright black fruit towards the finish. Plenty of energy here and I suspect that it will continue to improve once in bottle.
