Score 88-90/100 · Drink 2012-2020, Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate, Feb 2012

The 2010 Gevrey-Chambertin Les Cazetiers is a deceptively medium-bodied wine that seems to be holding back much of its potential. There is plenty of energy and drive in the glass; the elements just need to meld together a little more. Hints of mint, violets are woven into the expressive finish. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2020. Good deep red with ruby highlights. Complex nose melds ripe black cherry, clove, violet, leather and game; very Gevrey. Then sweet, pristine and primary in the mouth, with harmonious peppery acidity giving clarity to the concentrated dark fruit and game flavors. Offers a captivating combination of strength and finesse. Finishes long, with firm, fine-grained tannins.
