The 2020 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is precise on the iris and violet petal scented bouquet that offers complementary mint and fennel scents with time. It conveys the flair and flamboyance you expect from this Grand Cru. The palate is supple and focused with a silky texture, a pastille-like purity with orange zest and a dab of pain d'épices towards the finish. Just a joy.

A more elegant nose derives more from the red side of the fruit spectrum with more spice and a bit less earthiness. The delicious medium weight flavors possess a caressing palate feel along with excellent vibrancy, all wrapped in a dusty, youthfully austere and focused finale. This is also very good and a wine that should easily reward 12 to 15 years of aging.

Another stunner is the 2020 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru, a striking wine that soars from the glass with aromas of cherries, rose petals, wild berries, sweet spices and loamy soil. Full-bodied, ample and concentrated, it's deep and layered, with an enveloping core of vibrant fruit and a long, penetrating finish.
