Soft, ripe apple fruit. Pithy citric notes on the palate and a lovely greengage flavour to finish. Rounded, plump. (RH)

The 2014 Chablis 1er Cru Beugnons comes from 60-year-old vines and is matured for nine months in a concrete egg. It has a conservative, chalk and flint-scented bouquet that reveals attractive Granny Smith and fresh lime scents with continued aeration. The palate is fresh and vibrant with a twist of bitter lemon on the entry, impressive depth and vigor with a sustained, lemongrass-tinged finish. This is a fine Chablis Beugnons to enjoy over the next 8 to 10 years.
