Good medium-deep red. Expressive aromas of red fruits, brown spices and mocha; this could only be from Morey-Saint-Denis. Fat, silky and sweet, showing sexy spicy complexity and a hint of rose petal to the red fruit flavors. Conveys lovely balance and richness without evidence of _ surmaturité .

The 2014 Morey St Denis 1er Cru Clos Sorbe was showing just a little reduction on the nose when I tasted it. Baked cherries come through, allied with orange peel and blueberries, very Chambolle in style. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe red berry fruit, tangy marmalade and fine mineral tones framing the linear finish. It is a complex Morey-Saint-Denis underpinned by freshness and precision.

Mid crimson. Pale rim. Introvert on the nose. Sweet start and then very much built for the long term. Attractive fruity middle but wait. Firm tannins. (JR)
