Dried cherries, dried citrus zest, rose hips, tar and cocoa powder on the nose. It’s medium-bodied with fine, powdery tannins. Mineral and chalky character with an austere finish. Drink now.

The 2015 Gevrey Chambertin Village felt a little pinched on the nose after the exuberant Pommard Les Tavannes, quite strict and linear but opening up with floral scents with time. The palate is medium-bodied with quite solid tannin that render this Gevrey a little tight and obstreperous on the finish, but there is satisfying weight and length.

Dark red with ruby tones. Ripe aromas of black cherry, spices, game and flowers. The densest and finest-grained of these négociant wines to this point, with its youthfully medicinal quality nicely countered by concentrated, sweet fruit and very good energy. Includes vines from Gevrey-Chambertin and Brochon.
