Tasting notes
The Cabernet (a notably high 92%) dominates the nose here, with pure cassis and pencil lead with lifted, violet florals. There’s a real contrast between the nose and palate, which is much red-fruited in profile, vibrant and with a fine but firm, savoury and chalky grip of tannins. Juicy, mineral and medium-bodied, this is a typically classical offering from the Bartons. 12.9% alcohol. Aged in 60% new oak. Blend: 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc

The 2024 Château Léoville Barton is based on 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Merlot, and the rest Cabernet Franc. It's a classic Léoville Barton that brings to mind the vintages of the 1980s and 1990s, but with greater purity and precision. Aromas of cassis, ripe cherries, graphite, spicy wood, and loamy earth all emerge from the glass. Medium-bodied and beautifully balanced, it has fine tannins, integrated acidity, and a seamless mouthfeel.
Deep garnet-purple colored. After a little shaking, notes of fresh red cherries, mulberries, and stewed red plums hop from the glass, leading to hints of fallen leaves, graphite, and rose bud tea. Light-bodied, the palate is refreshing and pure, delivering soft, approachable tannins and bright red berry flavors, finishing on a perfumed floral note.
A classic Bordeaux that shows finesse and poise. This is understated, with a medium body, lovely texture and acidity, freshness and brightness. It shows firm tannins that aren't chewy. Very long and honest, with pure fruit. 92% cabernet sauvignon, 6% merlot and 2% cabernet franc.
