Good deep red-ruby. Reticent but pure aromas of cherry, currant, plum, minerals, spices and peppermint. Sweet, silky and rich on the palate but shapely too, even youthfully taut, with a natural freshness from its underlying minerality. Finishes long, with excellent sappy grip and length. This is always a bottling to buy.

(these vines were planted in 1947 and 1936, according to Lignier) Medium red. Deep aromas of blackberry, black cherry liqueur, licorice and mint. Rich, stony and soil-driven, with broad, palate-saturating flavors of wild dark berries, menthol, minerals and spices; a pronounced cherry quality emerged with aeration. Structured, complex wine that really shows its rocky subsoil. Sexy and strong for this cuvee
