The 2022 Chablis Fourchaume 1er Cru has a light but delineated bouquet with wet limestone and green apple scents. Discrete at the moment, it just needs time. The palate is nicely balanced with crisp acidity. It is not a complex Fourchaume, but there is ample weight, with a twist of sour lemon that enhances the finish. Certainly, this is one of the better cuvées from Vrignaud and worth seeking out. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis.
