2014 Domaine Frédéric Esmonin Gevrey-Chambertin

(an assemblage of many parcels; bottled at the end of July): Bright, dark red. Blueberry, violet and a whiff of meat on the very primary, slightly reduced nose. Quite dry and uncompromising in the mouth, even a bit green; this will need time in the cellar to fill in. More tannic than the Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Hauts Pruliers, finishing with a minty nuance.
