Dark red. Plum and cedar on the nose. Sweet, pliant and broad, with modest nuance and dimension to the currant and dried herb flavors. Not underripe in the style of so many 2000s. Seems resolved but still fresh, finishing with attractive lingering perfume. Easy to drink, and probably at its peak right now.

(with 2% cabernet franc) Bright ruby-red. Aromas of blueberry, cherry, plum and violet, plus notes of fresh herbs and dill. Rather reticent flavors of black cherry, herbs and tobacco leaf; a 2000 with modest flavor development and sweetness. Firmly built but a bit herbal, finishing with light but slightly dry tannins.

About the producer

Corison 1:1
Corison

Cathy Corison is one of Napa’s leading lights – a matriarch of the region who crafts defiantly elegant Cabernet Sauvignon from her old vines on the benchland between Rutherford and St Helena. These refined, long-ageing wines are some of Napa’s most impressive.
