This has the same house style as the premier cru and straight Chablis. A little bit woody on the nose but here more intensity and a light note of spice. Creamy texture and a bright, zesty mineral mid palate. Reasonable length but not really grand cru level. (JH)

(12.8% alcohol): Pale yellow. Inviting aromas of ripe yellow fruits, tangy citrus zest and wild herbs. Larger-scaled and rounder than the foregoing premier crus, with a strong spice character intensifying and lifting the stone fruit flavors. The most voluminous of these 2014s to this point but not yet filled in. Finishes lightly dusty and persistent.

Explosive aromas of peach, honey, flowers and wild herbs are complicated by a smoky nuance. Fat, saline and rich but with the juicy acidity of the vintage giving shape and lift to the ripe peach and apricot flavors. This powerful, voluminous wine finishes salty and long, with lovely spicy lift. But give it at least a few years in the cellar to smooth out.
