Drink 2029-2040, FINE+RARE, Nov 2025

he 2024 Bonnes-Mares from Georges Lignier is serious and robust, showing a round, full-bodied profile with an excellent fruit expression at its core. The oak is well integrated, allowing the wine’s suave, peppery character to come through clearly. The palate is structured and firm, with fine spice on the finish and a confident sense of power. Still young, but the balance and depth suggest it will be superb in 5-6 years’ time.

Giving sumptuous fruit from start to finish, this sings with flavors of black cherries, plums and fireplace embers. Planted in the 1930s, this 0.29 ha strip that runs from top to bottom of the cru sits in the famous red soils. Spice drawer, dry-aged steak, and hedonistic fruits pile up on the palate. The finish is soft and gliding with gently rhythmic acidity keeping the palate flowing. World-class wine!
