Score 91/100 · Neal Martin (Vinous)

The 2022 Chablis Les Clos Grand Cru has a reserved nose: crushed limestone, petrichor, hints of dew-speckled Granny Smith emerging with time. The aromatics almost tease you. The palate is powerful, nearly burly, mouth-filling malic fruit; what it lacks in nuance, it compensates with sheer brute force. It has a fine, malic, peppery finish, although there's little on the aftertaste. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis.
