The ruby-colored, red fruit-scented 2003 Chambertin (red) – from estate holdings – is fleshy, thick, and medium-bodied. Loads of red cherries, raspberries, notes of strawberries, and fresh herbs can be found in this impressive wine’s personality. In addition, this outstanding effort’s sappy fruit and chewy texture are carried through its extended finish. Projected maturity: 2007-2015. Maison Louis Latour has numerous importers across the United States.
About the producer
The Latour family has been growing vines in Burgundy since at least 1731. Their négociant business – today one of the region’s biggest names – was founded in 1797. Still family-owned today, the company owns 48 hectares of vines, 27 of which are Grand Cru, as well as its own cooperage.
