The 2015 Gevrey Chambertin Le Clos, which comes from vines located near the church inside the village, veers more towards red fruit on the nose: strawberry pastilles and redcurrant, a touch of orange sorbet. The palate is clean and fresh, adorned with more mineralité and tension than the Champ, and it neatly dovetails into a precise, linear but quite delicious finish. This is excellent and well worth hunting down—a village cru punching at the weight of a premier cru.

This is also distinctly restrained with notably cool aromas that blend notes of forest floor and earth with those of various wild red berries. The round, delicious and again vibrant medium-bodied flavors possess a caressing mouth feel before terminating in a balanced and saline finish that displays a hint of austerity.
