Score 94/100 · Drink 2020-2035, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Apr 2019

The 2016 Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru bursts with an extravagantly perfumed bouquet of cassis, raspberries, rose petal, forest floor, orange rind and dark chocolate. On the palate, it's full-bodied, silky and expansive, with a broad attack, melting tannins and a saline finish. This head-turning, dramatic wine is a remarkable feat of winemaking, as vinifying so small a cuvée—at some 80 liters, this is the rarest red wine in Burgundy—is far from easy.

About the producer

Duroche - Producer
Domaine Duroche

Domaine Duroché has, under Pierre Duroché, become one of the most sought-out and respected wine domaines in Gevrey-Chambertin. The wines are delicate and detailed, yet with old-vine intensity, a clear sense of place and style – and it’s easy to see why they’ve rapidly become so in-demand.
