Duroché's second rendition of this site, the 2020 Chambertin Grand Cru, is a worthy follow-up to its 2019 debut. Mingling aromas of sweet berries with notes of peonies, orange rind, warm spices and rose petals, it's full-bodied, layered and seamless, with an elegant, lively profile and a long, perfumed finish.

The 2020 Chambertin Grand Cru, from vines planted in 1934, has a little more depth and complexity than the Clos-de-Beze. Finely chiselled red cherries, wild strawberry and limestone scents unfurl in the glass. The palate is beautifully balanced, again, very silky and harmonious with a touch of more sapidity evident towards the finish. This has real class and pedigree here, this is an exceptional wine that will surely be highly sought-after.
