Toffee, tinned peaches, creamy oak. Bursts onto the palate – very full and rich. Pithy texture. Fat and perhaps a little lumbering, although that isn't atypical for the style of course. (RH)

Always beautiful, and a wine you don’t hear enough about, Rostaing’s 2020 Condrieu La Bonnette has vibrant notes of ripe peach, flowers, honeyed minerality, and even a kiss of green almond. More medium-bodied on the palate, it has the fresher, pure style of this estate, yet this is no mid-weight Condrieu either, and it has classic Viognier texture and length. It’s beautifully done.

Unoaked, no malo, tank sample. Attractive nose, lanolin and wet hay, chamomile. Rich mouthfeel and wet-hay notes on the palate too – quite powerful and ripe on the finish. (AC)
