(40 percent new oak) Light bright gold. Expansive orange, honeydew melon and violet aromas show outstanding clarity and minerally lift. Silky and taut on entry, then fleshier in the midpalate, offering vivid citrus and pit fruit and ginger flavors complemented by subtle anise and vanilla qualities. Finishes with strong mineral cut and excellent focus, leaving a suave floral note behind. Through the 2014 vintage this wine was known as "Vertige."

What should easily be an outstanding effort from winemaker Yves Cuilleron, the 2015 Condrieu Lieu Dit Vernon comes from one of the finest terroirs for Viognier in the world and will see 18 months in 40% new oak. Brioche, buttered citrus, orange rind and marmalade notes all emerge from this medium to full-bodied, clean, vibrant effort that’s well worth seeking out.
